This page explains how to add an electronic Depot Declaration (eDD) to an eECD when cleaned equipment has been stored at a depot before being assigned to the next load.
Intro & background
Equipment that was cleaned at a cleaning station is sometimes moved to a depot while awaiting assignment to the next load.
The depot can be:

the cleaning station itself;
-
a location belonging to the equipment operator; or
-
a third party, such as a multimodal terminal or deep-sea terminal.
This intermediate storage can lead to the expiry of the digital ECD that was created earlier.
When is an eDD needed?
The expiry date of an ECD is a general rule set by a Seller/Loader. It limits the risk of using an obsolete document and helps confirm that the document is genuine, contains the correct previous (= last) load, and guarantees that the physical condition of the inside of the container is still OK.
In some cases, depending on the product, cleaned equipment with an expired ECD can still be accepted for the next load.
To confirm that the ECD is still genuine and contains the previous (= last) load, a depot declaration is added to the eECD. This confirms that the equipment did not perform any loads in between.
Preconditions
Before an eDD can be added to a final eECD, make sure that:

the eECD is present in the equipment booklet;

the eECD status is COMPLETED or SIGNED OFF; and
-
the transport order or shipment is assigned to the seller, so the expiry rules of the product are taken into account.
Step-by-step

Clean the equipment ID with an eECD in status COMPLETED or SIGNED OFF.

Assign the seller shipment/transport order to this cleaned equipment ID. The load status is PLANNED.

Click the last existing eECD document in the booklet.

Click Add depot declaration.

Select the date until which the equipment ID was at the depot and did not move.
Result / What happens next
An eDD is automatically added as a separate page to the eECD and is visible to the loading place.
Notes

Use the eDD only when a depot declaration is needed to confirm that the cleaned equipment did not perform any loads after the previous eECD.

The eDD supports acceptance of cleaned equipment when the original ECD has expired, depending on the applicable product rules.
