FAQ - cinvio prepayment system

Service description

Translations in Dutch, French & German below.

Certified Pick up is an obligatory container release service for all containers leaving an Antwerp port terminal by truck, rail or barge.

In order to access the web interface (UI) of the Certified Pick up service and to accept container release rights or create new container subscriptions, you need to purchase a token-based subscription on the cinvio payment platform. There are different subscription tiers you can choose from, based on the estimated number of container actions you require on an annual basis.

Of course, should the requested tier be insufficient, you can always upgrade to a next tier.

The tokens in the various tiers are non-refundable and are valid for a period of 12 months, as from the initial subscription purchase date.  At the end of that period, unused tokens will not be transferred to the next period.

FAQ

Why do I need to buy a web UI subscription?

Certified Pick up is obligatory*. Active communities in the port of Antwerp jointly support this and have also agreed to partially cover the costs involved in the process. There is, however, an amount that transporters will also need to pay in order to request the release of a container via the web UI. Find the tariffs below.

*This obligation falls within a legal framework introduced in the port police regulations.

What is a token?

A token represents a container action and is used to count the number of actions you have and have used from your subscription. Specifically, a token will be used for the following actions:

  • each time you accept a release order right for a container at a terminal granting access via Alfapass validation (not a PIN code), or

  • each time you subscribe to obtain container status information (green lights) for containers that still require a PIN code to be collected.

Should a shipping agent cancel or take the release right back, the used token will be put back onto your subscription balance.

How long are the tokens valid?

Tokens are purchased through an annual subscription and valid for 12 months. Tokens are not refundable, during, or at the end of the 12-month period. Tokens will not be reimbursed during or at the end of the annual subscription.

What happens when a container release is revoked by the shipping agent?

Should a shipping agent cancel or take the release right back, the used token will be put back onto your subscription balance.

Where can I see my current token balance?

You can check your token balance – the number of tokens left on your subscription balance - in the CPu web interface (UI) at all times. You can also find this any time on your cinvio account, under “services” and then clicking on “My Subscriptions”.

Do I need to buy a web UI subscription if I already have a CPu API subscription?

No, you don’t. The CPu API subscription includes an unlimited use of the web interface (UI).

What types of subscriptions are there?

For transport companies using the CPU web interface there are 3 subscription tiers, built to accommodate the annual number of containers you expect to handle during one year in the Port of Antwerp:

  • Low: 25 tokens for 125€/year * (excluding VAT)

  • Intermediate: 2000 tokens for 250€/year * (excluding VAT)

  • High: unlimited number of tokens for 500€/year * (excluding VAT)

What if I need more tokens during the year of my subscription?

During your subscription period, you can always upgrade for your original subscription tier to a higher one.  This, at the difference between your originally purchased tier and the new one. For example, you currently have a “low” subscription tier (25 tokens for 125€*) and you want to upgrade to “intermediate” (2000 tokens for 250€*), so you will only have to pay 125€*.

Can I ask to transfer or refund any remaining tokens at the end of the subscription year?

Unfortunately, any tokens you have not used during your 12-month subscription period will expire and can be neither refunded nor transferred to a new period.

Where can I buy a subscription?

To settle the payment for pre-pay solutions NxtPort has partnered with cinvio. If you already hold a cinvio account, a digital wallet, you can use your cinvio balance for NxtPort CPu subscriptions as well. You will not need to create a new account, but you will have to pair your cinvio account with your CPu account. Check the cinvio support site for more information about pairing accounts: cinvio support.

If you are not yet registered to cinvio, you can do so here.

Why does NxtPort CPu work with cinvio?

cinvio already provides this type of business-to-business payment service in the Port of Antwerp for other service providers and holds all the necessary licenses to provide these services in a safe and secure way.

If you already hold a cinvio account, a digital wallet, you can use your cinvio balance for NxtPort CPu subscriptions as well. You will not need to create a new account, but you will have to pair your cinvio account with your CPu account. Check the cinvio support site for more information about pairing accounts: here.

What happens at the end of my first year’s subscription period?

The tokens you have not used by the end of your subscription period will expire. You will have to purchase a new subscription for the next period. Which tier you purchase will depend on the number of containers you will be collecting in the Port Antwerp during that period.

cinvio provides an easy renewal service for you and will notify you before the end of your current subscription that your current subscription is about to expire.

Who will help me when I have problems creating a cinvio account or purchasing subscriptions?

cinvio’s support desk is available to you from Monday to Friday between 09.00AM and 17.00PM for all your questions and issues. You can contact the support desk by e-mail at support@cinvio.com or via chat on the platform: https://app.cinvio.com.

What is ‘pairing’?

Pairing means connecting two accounts so that one can access information of the other. In this case, you need to let your NxtPort know you have a cinvio wallet, and that you want to use it to pay for the CPu web interface subscription. In this way, you will allow your cinvio wallet to be used on the CPu platform, and you will allow NxtPort to access your cinvio wallet. A match!

How much money do I need to have in my digital wallet to buy a NxtPort CPu web interface subscription?

For transport companies using the CPU web interface there are 3 subscription tiers, built to accommodate the annual number of containers you expect to handle during one year in the Port of Antwerp:

  • Low: 25 tokens for 125€/year * (excluding VAT)

  • Intermediate: 2000 tokens for 250€/year * (excluding VAT)

  • High: unlimited number of tokens for 500€/year * (excluding VAT)

21% VAT needs to be added for those companies registered in Belgium. For companies not registered in Belgium but in a different EU country, VAT will be automatically reverse charged.

Companies registered in Belgium, the minimum amounts to have in their cinvio wallets are…

  • 151.25€ for aLow’ subscription: 25 tokens

  • 302.50€ for anIntermediate’ subscription: 2000 tokens

  • 605€ for aHigh’ subscription: Unlimited number of tokens

We recommend, however, to top up your cinvio wallet with more than this, since it is very likely you will request other services in the port of Antwerp that are settled via cinvio.
